Supporting women living in refuge who are pregnant.

In England and Wales 1.6 million women reported experiencing domestic abuse in 2019, pregnancy is a trigger for domestic abuse and has a negative impact for the women and her baby.

60% of domestic abuse survivors are mothers and 1 in 15 are pregnant women.
It is not easily identified by professionals as domestic abuse is complex and often involves different patterns of behaviour including, controlling, threatening, violent, coercive, degrading, and sexual assaults.
It does not only occur between couples. It is important to note that all family members can be involved in domestic abuse.
